Sync is the best way to transfer files between your Mac, PC, NAS, and even server.

Create your own private cloud. Connect devices and sync files securely without sending them on third-party servers. We don’t limit your speed or storage space: our technology works especially well with huge files.

No storage limits
• Sync as much data as you have on your hard drives.

Automatic camera backup
• Sync will back up photos and videos as soon as you take them.
• You can then delete photos from your phone and save space.

Direct transfers, no cloud
• Your information is never stored on servers in the cloud, so nobody can access it without your permission.
• Transfer files directly and fast using peer-to-peer technology (p2p).

Any device and platform
• Access folders and upload files to your tablet, PC, Mac, NAS, and even server.

Supports all file types
• Add photos, videos, music, docs, and PDFs from other apps to any of your synced folders.

Save space
• Selective Sync lets you save only the files you need.

To get the best performance and to avoid running up your data charges while syncing folders, we recommend leaving the "Use Cellular Data" setting off.

Note: BitTorrent Sync is a personal file syncing application. It is not compatible with torrent file sharing applications.

Pros and cons of BitTorrent Sync app for iPhone and iPad

BitTorrent Sync app good for

With a Raspberry pi as an allways-on server, I have managed to replace my Dropbox for almost all files. Also useful when traveling and one needs to have some documents on the mobile device which are usually only on a computer.
Hey guys love the ongoing developments. Lots to say but came here to tell you: on the iPad app there is an issue playing sound on video files within the app. The sound works with headphones and on the iPhone app for the same directory. Thanks.
Local camera backup when at home then upload pics to online a storage overnight. Cant beat it
This app seems to work very well. Surprisingly nice, quick features to use. Syncs nicely with added peers. Works on local network without Internet connection. Love the QR code sync folder creation.
Using it with my Synology RS3614XS. A little tricky to set up, but if you read documentation closely and patiently, youll breeze your way through. Very fast & robust syncing.
This is a great app. Does what it states and is very easy to use. Share all your files between different OS all without the cloud.

Some bad moments

Restored my iPhone from iTunes backup, now all synced folders are gone. Most of the data was synced, but as BT Sync doesnt sync automatically in the background, I have no way of knowing whats missing. Now Ill have to set up all synced folders again, which is pretty annoying.
Simple, fast, secure So far, Im very positively surprised. Works great. Update: the newest version crashes every time I try to save something in the app. Adobe reader, pdf -> open in sync, save in folder -> crash
While the desktop-versions are only starting very slowly but are generally well performing, the iOS versions on my iPhone (with iOS8) and iPad (with iOS9) are super-slow and crashing a lot
It did work in iOS 9 before I updated it. now it crashes on opening. not good.
The application is still not working on iOS 8, even after the latest update. It keeps crashing when we want to add a folder.
Speeds trend to 0 even though there are files to transfer. Unusable on iPad.
