I love this thing.
I love this thing.
4 stars because of its slightly buggy nature and a bit slow to handle large directories with lots of files. But I love the concept, and I love being self sufficient not having to rely on any 3rd party service such as Dropbox. The app is constantly being improved and I look forward to more error free and reliable synchronization.
Have been using Sync for about 2 months now and I find it very useful and convenient. It was quick and easy to install. I copied PDFs magazines and manuals to the sync drive and then was able to effortlessly move the ones I wanted to read now to my iPad2. Built-in pdf reader is a great assistance to quickly check something or the PDFs can be opened in iBooks. Thanks for a great product where I have control of the data files. JohnA
This is the file sync tool Ive searched for for years. Everything I want in the mobile version except integration with third party apps.
Great app that does what is supposed to.
I use this to keep several staff workstations across several locations up-to-date and in sync. Works perfectly. Evens keeps previous versions of files. My office computer administration would be harder without this!
I love this app. How it connects directly from my laptop and not on a cloud is very useful. This replaces dropbox :) The only few problems I have is that when many movies are downloaded to my phone after its synced, the app crashes. You guys also need to add more readable video types like flv or avi.
Theres plenty of things to wish that it did but doesnt (greater control over folder organization and search) but it does the most important thing quick and reliably with a no fuss minimal approach. I love it.
A great alternative to other cloud based storages. Allows me to have separate folders synchronized with different parties, and not worrying about storage limit. Improvements Id like to see: The iPad version supports hiding left side bar. Mobile versions support displaying thumbnail of photos. Also, an option to limit sharing to local area network, and remove dependency on having a remote server as directory. Given this is only beta version, its very well done.
I can transfer home movies to my laptop in seconds and PDFs and MP3s to my IPhone quickly and easily, no fuss no muss. Thank you so much for this app
I really love this app. Its like your own private Dropbox. Great work!
Speeds trend to 0 even though there are files to transfer. Unusable on iPad.
This was free, giving you full control to sync as many folders as youd like. Now the free version limits users to 10. $40/yr is too much for a cloud solution where I supply all the bandwidth and storage. Free version shouldnt have 10 folder limit.
My phone just updated this for me and now it crashes on startup every time. Terrible
This new version is awful. Not only does the app crash multiple times, it cant connect to my folders and files that were already uploaded to the previous version. Now my files are in some sort of limbo taking up space. This new version also is struggling to connect and downloading new files. Please bring the previous version back!!!!
Needs a bit more colour but works wonderfully for backing up photos and getting documents without sacrificing security.
Here are the following criticisms I have with the app. Otherwise its great. The cellular data message keeps popping up, every time I open my app when it is restrictedly disabled unless its on wifi, it gets annoying after the 3rd time I open the app. If the memory serves me right, there is no background syncing. So if I leave the app. It will stop downloading (I think there should be a setting for that) The video doesnt rotate in landscape mode. Very annoying if you are to sync a long video.
..totally buggy. Crashes upon launching. The desktop app is great but the iOS app is not reliable.
Great program that syncs all your stuff between any device fast and efficiently and you dont have to give up your privacy by storing it in some cloud or cyber locker service!
I love this app, but it has some flaws such as no thumbnails and some security issues. You can easily gain access to files even if you have a pass code set and your device is locked. This can be done by plugging the device into any computer running certain Linux based operating systems (Ive tested on Debian and Ubuntu) by browsing the app package. I was unable to do this with competing services apps such as Dropbox and OneDrive. Please encrypt the files stores within the app!
